REVIEW: Steal My Breath by Nina Levine

What can I say? Steal My Breath was completely breathtaking. I am not quite sure what I expected from this book because it is different from her MC books (which I absolutely LOVE) but I was definitely not let down. Nina Levine has a way to capture the reader with her words. Her characters are strong and powerful and she makes writing seem effortless.

In the beginning, I could not believe the twist that came when we learned things about Luke and I was very upset but my heart broke for him when the whole truth was revealed. It takes a strong man to stand by and support his family throughout turbulent times.

I love that Callie is a strong woman who stands on her own two feet. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Even after connecting with bossy Luke she doesn't back down in standing her ground and fights for what is right. She is willing to sacrifice everything she finds with Luke to do the right thing and it is heartbreaking.

Even Avery, Callie's best friend is a force to be reckoned with. That's what I love about Nina's female characters. They are not whiny, weak women who need someone to save them.

I love this thought:
"Nothing worth having comes easy. It's such a throwaway lines these days, but it's probably one of the most important notion is life. Our society is so caught up in the fast, the easy, and the immediate. There's a sense of entitlement among so many that I don't subscribe to. I've never shied away from hard work, but it's always good to be reminded that working towards something you want takes effort." From the mind of Callie
