Things have been a bit hectic this past few months. In one of my previous posts months back I stated that I had moved teaching positions and the first year at a new place is always a difficult one, especially when routines are new. I finally found myself not drowning in papers to grade, lesson plans, and documents to fill out with a month left before summer break. Fitting isn't it?
Also, just before school started last August, my mother-in-law had a stroke and was in a coma for about a week. My family situation has been stressful to say the least. She won't ever be 100% but she is doing well for the moment. My time has been split between work and helping out my father-in-law and the caretaker as much as I can.
In the last few week's I have found my self going back to my computer and reading less. You see, I read to relieve stress. But I have slowed down on reading and have diversified if you will my activities. It saddens me to not read as much but I am happy to not be so stressed.
The one thing that does have me on edge this week was that my house was supposed to close this past Thursday. But nope, the roofer decided to not show which caused a delay in the appraisal which pushed back the closing. So now, I wait. Again. Hoping this is over soon.
I have already started a new pair for Memorial Day and 4th of July. Having learned from my mistakes I know what to do differently this time.
A new week means the STAAR test is upon us but once it's over there are 3 weeks till school is out and Costa Rica is just around the corner.
