Personal

In the last month my position at worked changed. I think I have worked more in the last couple of weeks than I've worked in the last couple of years. I usually can read at least a book a day (I can read pretty fast). But here lately I have been too exhausted to do anything but eat and go to bed.

I am loving what I am doing but exhaustion has set in. I have read some book and need to blog about them so hopefully I can get caught up here soon.

Shade by Jamie Begley

Wow!

If you love the Last Rider's series and have read all the books then this book is pretty much a recap of all the stories in one very long book. However, I absolutely loved reading from Shade's POV. You are able to gain a better insight into who Shade really is and how he felt throughout the series. There were parts in each of the previous books that left me wondering what was happening (most of the time Shade was involved) and reading from his POV filled in those gaps.

For example, Shade goes a bit crazy at Razor's bachelor party and until now we never fully understood what really happened.Until now.

When Knox was being investigated and was framed for Samantha's murder, we never heard what went down with the 2 girls who planted jewelry in Knox's dresser. In Shade's pov, the mystery is solved.

There are so many more examples but let me just say, YES, the book is long and I've read so my review's that this is just a recap of all the books and not worth it but I disagree. It was totally worth it! Sometimes we need a reminder of what has previously has happened and getting it from a different pov made it all more memorable.

The Last Rider's is one of my favorite MC's and love spending time with them.

Relent by Nina Levine

I have to say that I am in love with Nina Levine's writing and stories!

To say that I could not put the book down is an understatement, I began and read till I finished. It was an easy read but it kept me wanting more.

Evie and Kick had been best friends and known each other for years. They grew up together and knew each other completely but had failed twice at having a "more than friends" relationship. After their second attempt failed they went their separate ways. They only reconnected because their other long time friend, Jeremy, dies in a car wreck.

Kick didn't want to bring Evie into his lifestyle but after Jeremy died he realized that life was too short and he would get her back and make Evie his. She however, is not willing to give him her heart again.

Relent has a typical alpha male who I absolutely love! As in most MC books I've read, both characters deal with personal issues that they need to overcome in order to be happy and get their HEA. What I found different about Evie was that up until half way through the book she thought that Kick was the problem. While having a conversation with a friend she admits to still loving Kick but can not see how they could work through their baggage. During the conversation she realizes that Kick is not the problem, she is. Realizing her issues opens the door for Kick. I loved the push and pull between Evie and Kick.

Their relationship problems are just a piece of the story. The MC might be facing a War on two different fronts. Things are going to get interesting...

Hyde the VP...hmm has a bit of an attitude problem. He's either going to have a great story or could he be a traitor? Can't wait to find out.
